About the Workshop

Our "Try-It Ceramics" workshop led by Emma, is a one-night, low-pressure introduction to the world of clay, specifically geared toward absolute beginners or anyone looking for a quick skills refresher. With small class sizes and plenty of individual attention from skilled instructors, this course provides the ideal environment to explore clay for the very first time. It is a fantastic, unique creative experience to share with friends, family, or to jump into as a solo date.

What to Expect

Get ready to roll up your sleeves for a fully hands-on, two-hour studio lesson. Depending on the selection you make when you register, you will dive into basic ceramic techniques on the pottery wheel or learn the fundamentals of handbuilding. You will have the opportunity to shape and create two unique pieces from scratch. Once your pottery is formed, you will select your favorite shades from a vibrant palette of over 30 on-site dipping glazes to finish your creations.

What is Included

Everything you need to get your hands dirty is fully provided:

• A 2-hour guided lesson with supportive, expert instructors.
• All clay materials, specialized tools, and final firings.
• Studio aprons to protect your clothes during the lesson.
• A wide selection of mid-fire dipping glazes to customize your work.

After the Class

Because your pottery needs to dry completely before going through multiple high-temperature kiln firings, the studio will handle the finishing process for you. Your two completed, glazed pieces will be carefully fired and ready for pickup 3–4 weeks after your lesson.
