    About the Space

    Hayes Valley Art Works

    @hvaw.hayesvalleyartworks

    Hayes Valley Art Works (HVAW) is a vibrant, temporary sanctuary for artistic expression and neighborhood connection. Situated on "Site R," a lot slated for future affordable housing, this repurposed space is a collaborative partnership between the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association, Friends of the Urban Forest, and the City of San Francisco. It serves as a vital "interim use" project, transforming an unused urban lot into a hub for discussion, learning, and shared creative vision.

    As a member of Intersection for the Arts, HVAW is dedicated to sustainable community practices and inclusive programming. Whether you are visiting to explore the sculpture garden or attend a local workshop, the space remains a testament to the power of grassroots arts in enhancing the urban landscape.
