What to Expect
Live journalism, performance, and community building for the Bay Area.
Night of Ideas returns to San Francisco for a dynamic, after-dark marathon of talks, live performances, workshops, and art. In partnership with Villa Albertine, the Asian Art Museum, Circuit Network, KQED, and the San Francisco Public Library, this year’s theme, "Lighting the Way," invites the Bay Area to explore how collective imagination and creativity can illuminate the next 250 years. It is a unique space where perspectives are expanded and the future is shaped in real time through shared exploration and vibrant cultural exchange.
The festivities begin with the Afternoon of Ideas, a family-friendly experience designed to welcome youth into the spirit of the event. Through hands-on workshops and playful performances led by artists and educators, the daytime program fosters curiosity and intergenerational connection before the evening’s main celebration.
